Foundation is not something that essential for me since I am more a skincare person rather than makeup person. But when The Ordinary launched a foundation (and since it got so many good reviews) I decided to bought it a few months ago, and today I will be reviewing The Ordinary Coverage Foundation in shade 2.0 N.
As always, lets start with the packaging. This foundation came in a bottle with a pump, which I think really great since the pump makes it easier to control how much product we wanted to use. At the front side of the bottle its written “Coverage Foundation – High Coverage Foundation Formula”, this foundation will be perfect for you if you want a medium to high coverage, or if you prefer a sheer coverage you can get the Serum Foundation instead.
At the back of the bottle, a direction on how to use it is written. It says:
Shake before use. Dispense a small amount into the palm or the back of your hand. Smooth on and blend throughout the face, ideally outward from the midpoint of the face
This foundation is alcohol-free, oil-free, nut-free, vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and soy-free. I think this foundation will be suitable for people who has a sensitive skin, since it alcohol free and also fragrance free too!
Anyway, this foundation has 21 shade for fair to dark skin tone, and they also provide shade for different undertone from pink to yellow to neutral undertone, and some of the shade even has a silver/gold highlight too (for example shade 1.0N which is for fair skin with neutral undertone with silver highlights). I got mine in 2.0 N which is for light medium skin with neutral undertone, I think this neutral shade is more leaning towards yellow undertone rather than pink, so if you have a neutral undertone but your tone is leaning more to pink undertone I recommend you to choose the shade with a pink undertone instead. This foundation also has a SPF 15 in it.

The texture of this foundation is a bit watery, not too thick, and its super blendable. Even though this foundation claim it self as a high coverage foundation, for me the coverage power of this foundation is more like a medium, if you want a high coverage then you have to apply 2 layers of this foundation. For me one pump of this foundation is enough to cover my whole face and give me a medium coverage. What I love about this foundation is that this foundation is super lightweight! it almost feels like I’m not wearing anything on my face, and blends well into my skin. The staying power of this foundation is I think only for 5-6 hours, more than that this foundation will started to fade. I think this foundation will be suitable for all skin types, I have a combination skin and this foundation give me no problem, but I think for people who has combination to oily skin its gonna be wise to use a setting powder after you use this foundation.
Will I repurchase this foundation? Actually I don’t know since I’m not that into foundation, I prefer BB cream rather than foundation, but since this foundation is really lightweight maybe I will purchase this foundation again. I actually waiting for the ordinary water colours matte foundation that soon to be released! Maybe I will buy that instead of this(?) HAHA we’ll see later.
