People change their skincare routine when season change. I live in Indonesia and its rainy season now, in my town the weather is currently quite cold, its raining everyday, and the humidity level is quite high. Which means, right now my skin is less dehydrated (my skin is becoming more dehydrated when the weather is drier). I actually haven’t made any changes in my skincare routine, my routine is the same as before (when the weather is dry and super hot). So, today I’m going to tell you about my current AM skincare routine+the product that I’m using.
Let’s get started!
I didn’t include my cleansing product in the picture, sorry, somehow I forgot to include my cleansing foam. Anyway, I currently using a cleansing foam from Innisfree, the Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam which is a deep cleansing foam. I’m not doing a double cleansing in my AM routine as I think it won’t be necessary, so I only use a cleansing foam. the Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam is perfect for me, it doesn’t dries out my skin, it brighten my skin, and it does cleans my pore. This cleansing foam is perfect for oily/combination skin, for the dry skin type I think this product will be too drying.
Using a toner is mandatory for me, I said this on my skincare dos and don’ts post that I used to use a toner that contain an alcohol. But I’ve changed, in my skincare routine toner’s duty is to re-hydrate my skin, so my HG toner is Klairs – Supple Preparation Facial Toner that’s really hydrating, alcohol-free, and smells good too! I currently testing Laneige – Fresh Calming Toner that made for oily/dehydrated skin, and so far fresh calming toner does an amazing job! It hydrate my skin and it felt so refreshing everytime I use the toner, I’ll write the full review later.
My skin is changed after I started using essence, my skin became more supple, soft, and less oily too (I guess it took care of my dehydrated skin problem). I’m currently using COSRX – Advanced Snail Mucin 96 Power Essence, its really a great essence, it does an amazing job in hydrating my skin, brighten my skin, and make my skin softer. You can read the full review in here.
You know, adding an active ingredient in my skincare routine literally changed my skin. I started use a serum few month ago, and the serum that I currently use is The Ordinary – Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. I’ve written the full review in here, but the thing is this serum plays a great job in preventing acne from showing up in my face, I used to have a lot of little bumps on my forehead and after I use this serum for a month (or more) it started to fade away, in fact it prevent acne from showing in my skin and help reducing the acne scars too.
You really cannot skip this step, its the step where you lock all the product that you’re using. I prefer a lightweight, gel type, and hydrating moisturizer and my current moisturizer is Kiehls – Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream which is a really lightweight moisturizer. It is a gel type moisturizer and I really like it because when I apply it, I feel like the gel is melted into my skin, it feels like a water. One thing that makes me a bit disappointed in this product is it contain an alcohol, so if my skin condition is sensitive/irritated it will stings a lot when I apply this moisturizer. I actually planning on trying Huxley’s Fresh and More Cream or Belif’s The True Cream Aqua Bomb, has anyone try it? is it good?
I basically obsessed with sunscreen, I cannot leave my home without this product, no. I currently use Klairs – Mid-day Blue Sun Lotion, which I already wrote the review in here. I gotta say that Klairs’s sunscreen has the pros and cons, but so far its the best sunscreen that I’ve tried. It doesn’t leave a white cast (when I apply it the right way) and it also has a tone up effect which is great.
Okay so that is my current skincare routine, I’d have to say that’s the skincare routine+products that help my skin get better, meaning my skin has becoming less oily and less dehydrated (I used to have a really oily skin+flaky skin+dry spot on my skin). However due to the weather changes, my skin is starting to become more oily (although its not as oily as before I get into this routine). I think I’m going to add a sebum control product into my skincare routine later.
You know, I wanted to say this. I think it is important to listen to your skin’s need, change your skincare product based on your skin need, doesn’t matter if the weather is changed or not, if your skin gave you a sign then you gotta add or change something in your routine.
Anyway that’s it for today, I hope you like it and find it helpful!
See you later!
