I finally decided to be productive and write this review while laying on my bed in my pajamas all day *wink*. ANYWAAAYY, this product I’m about to tell you about is one of the product that I’m the most excited to try. So, without further ado let’s start the review!
Everyone has been raving Dr. Jart+’s cicapair line ever since it came out, I always wanted to try the products since a while ago but its always sold out everywhere and its kinda hard to find it in Indonesia. However, last month I finally get my hands on this lovely serum. I decided to go for the serum because I’m not sure the cream or re-cover cream will be suitable for my oily-combination skin.
I certainly in love with the packaging, I mean most of K-beauty products nowadays has the minimalistic and sleek design. Which I really love! and so does this serum. Fyi, the packaging material is plastic so its totally travel friendly. And it came with a dropper that automatically suck up the products when you open it.
What it is:
A highly concentrated, fast-acting serum that soothes skin sensitivity while calming redness and irritation.
– Acne and blemishes
Cicapair™ Collection is inspired by the true legend of Asian tigers, rolling in centella asiatica to heal their battle wounds. It’s also known as tiger grass and its medicinal use has been recognized for centuries. For generations, this active ingredient has also been recognized as a recovery system to help support wounded skin exhibiting inflammation, redness, or blemishes (source: sephora.com)
Ok, let’s talk about the main ingredient of this serum, Centella Asiatica or known as cica. As we all know, centella asiatica has been really famous lately. A lot of brand released a product with cica as its main ingredients, starting from serum to creams to masks.
Just in case you don’t know, centella asiatica is a small plant that grows in a tropical and yet damp areas like in Asia or South Africa. Cica is famous for its ability to heal wounds and anti-inflammatory properties. Cica also helps in soothing skin, anti-oxidant rich, and increase collagen level in our skin.

To be honest, my first impression with this serum is like “okay… this serum is okay but the redness in my face isn’t going anywhere, isn’t it supposed to calm the redness on my face or something like that?!”. But, its true that you shouldn’t judge a product when you’ve only used it once HAHA. Anyway, the texture of the serum is watery, its super lightweight and spreadable, two pumps of the serum can cover my whole face. It absorbed super quick and has a nice herbal scent.
So I’m not giving up on the serum, as usual I tested it for 4 weeks to see the difference it made to my skin. I think in about 2 weeks after I started using it, my skin complexion has become, or at least, looks healthier and I think it kinda toned up my skin. My skin is somehow looking really smooth, the pores is kind of blurred (idk if this one is because of this or because I constantly using AHA/BHA). And I always had a lot of tiny bumps on my forehead that no matter how often I use chemical exfoliator or any products that’s targeting acne, it just wont go away. But its no longer there now, like a miracle.
However, it doesn’t work in preventing or treating cystic acne nor hormonal acne, I currently have one on my forehead right now, and I don’t think the serum is calming down the acne or affecting it in any ways. So, I’m still relying on La roche-posay effaclar duo(+) for the cystic acne.
Ok, that was it. Have you ever tried this serum? or any products from the cicapair line? Tell me about it!
And I’ll see ya on the next post!
